He is Our Fortress

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 91: 1-2

Let me begin by saying that even though it has been a while since our last letter I can assure you that all of you have been in our thoughts and prayers. There is no doubt that what is happening in our country and around the world has affected us all in a variety of ways. It is first and foremost our prayer that none of you or your loved ones have been afflicted with the Corona virus. As of this writing, I give thanks to God that my family has not been in contact with it. Suffice it to say, the Ranch has been Covid-free, however it has affected the family of one of our boys in a dire way.

As all of you have had to make hard decisions over these past few months you can imagine we have had our hands full here. This entire situation is unprecedented and particularly complicated in circumstances such as ours. After contacting both local and state authorities including the Office of Education it was decided the best thing to do for our boys and their families was to remain in operation. This meant cancelling Spring break and altering our program in order to meet local and state safety requirements. Needless to say, this was a very unpopular decision for the boys and very difficult on the staff as we have willingly given up our vacations in order to care for the boys.

I am so very thankful for our leadership as well as the rest of our staff. We have stood resolute in the face of this crisis resting firmly on the promises of God praying, loving and helping one another at every opportunity. The Lord is good and His love endures forever, AMEN!

With that said, please continue to pray for us as we have several high-risk staff members and volunteers currently serving. Also please continue to pray for the Hanson family; Kevin recently suffered a mini-stroke, as they decide on treatment options. However, most of all be encouraged as we rest in the hands of a sovereign God who wastes nothing and works all things together for the good of those who love Him!

Know this, you are loved, we are praying for you and no matter what happens in this world we will continue to faithfully preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to these boys! Thank you so much for you continued support. We know you are facing some difficult decisions ahead and we will support you in them as you have supported us. Blessings!

Richard
