We have so much to be grateful for! The Fall welcomed us rather quickly here as the weather turned from summer to fall rather abruptly. Our annual fall resolve was a tremendous blessing and is turning into something so sweet!! We have recently adopted a new format for the families during our break out session; Men break off with men and the women gather with the women in a time of support. This year I got to host the women’s group at our home what a blessing that was! Opening my home to the ladies is a delight to me, there was good food -sorry guys- and a rich time of sharing was had!! Three staff ladies came up with topics of discussion. What a gift to see the women so involved! They gave us a two and a half hour time slot and it still didn’t seem like enough! From the group was born a FHYR mom Facebook page where we can support each other all the time. At the end we had groups of women praying over their boys together, what a joy!!! The only complaint we heard was it wasn’t long enough. Praise God….
Recently at one of our staff meetings I looked around and couldn’t help but notice what a well oiled machine we have become. Each department head giving updates and training in their department. So much communication happening now its amazing!!! Having so many step up to do their part is a gift and a blessing!! On that note please be in prayer as we just received an application for a new staff family. He recently came out by himself to observe the ministry to see if it would be a good fit. Richard and this man have been talking for about six months and just last week he submitted his application. Please be in prayer for this transition!
This spring Richard is going back to school and I ask for you to pray for us. Its a hard thing to balance when he is in school and he needs the Lords strength. We are excited however because through working at the Flying H he has changed his degree to an M.B.A. with an emphasis in non-profit management. Unfortunately none of his Theology study will transfer to this program but they are giving him work credit so that helps. We know the Lord wastes nothing and we rest in that. God willing we hope to be finished in two years.
Our children are doing great and thriving. Ellie continues to grow in the reading program she is doing, Gabe is getting ready to be a freshman next year, I can hardly believe it! He had a wonderful football season as his team went undefeated. In Jan he will have his 14th birthday. Abby is doing great, working with her horse is teaching her so much! On December third she will be recognized at the county 4H office for being the years intermediate high points winner!! Brielle keeps us all laughing, she has the gift of hospitality and is such a compassionate little girl with enough spunk she can hold her own.
This Thanksgiving I had the privilege of cooking for 70 people. I tell you its a gift to me, a joy, and a blessing. Seeing the boys with their families, eating till their hearts content, makes my heart smile.
We made a short trip to CA recently as we welcomed our first grandchild. I still cant believe I AM A GRANDMOTHER! Am I really that old? My body is giving more signs of aging but geeesh!! In all seriousness we are so grateful for that little boy Kenneth James. Pray with us he grows to know the Lord!! The birth was perfect, he is perfect, mom and dad are doing great, and we are so proud of our girl. She’s already such a great momma.

The boys, we have an interesting group with one new boy who is a definite challenge. Pray that the leadership gap amongst the boys would close and a new leader would emerge. Pray for the families as winter leave is about to happen mid December.
